Ed Sheeran & Justin Bieber’s “I Don’t Care” Closed Day One With 2526 Pop Radio Plays, 949 Hot AC Spins

“I Don’t Care” makes a big opening day splash at radio.

Ed Sheeran & Justin Bieber’s “I Don’t Care” received mammoth opening day support at the pop and hot adult contemporary radio formats.

According to Mediabase, “I Don’t Care” had received 2,526 pop radio plays by the end of Friday. It meanwhile closed its first day with 949 spins at the Hot AC format.

With those counts, “I Don’t Care” earns #26 on the building/real-time pop chart and #22 on the building/real-time Hot AC listing. The building charts rank songs based on the first six days of the May 5-11 tracking period.

“I Don’t Care” notably received hourly first-day airplay from many stations at both formats. While it will not receive the same degree of support Saturday, it will remain a popular radio option. It will, as a result, make a big splash on this week’s official airplay charts.
