“Avengers: Endgame” Stays #1 At US Friday Box Office; “Intruder,” “Long Shot,” “UglyDolls” Make Top 4

The three newcomers are no match for “Avengers: Endgame.”

Three major new releases entered the US movie market this weekend, but none represents a threat to “Avengers: Endgame.”

The record-breaking blockbuster remained a dominant #1 at the Friday box office, earning $40.6 million in new receipts. The Friday tally positions “Endgame” to earn $144-154 million over the full weekend — and lift its cumulative total past the $600 million mark.

“The Intruder,” “Long Shot,” and “UglyDolls,” the new releases, take the next few spots on the chart. “The Intruder” takes #2 on the Friday listing with $3.9 million in opening day receipts, while “Long Shot” grabs #3 with $3.6 million. “UglyDolls” follows at #4 thanks to its $2.5 million.

“The Intruder” and “Long Shot” may switch positions as the weekend progresses.

“Captain Marvel,” the #5 film on Friday, added $1.2 million to its haul.
