BTS’ “Map Of The Soul: Persona” Projected For #1 With 175-185K US Sales, 210-225K US Units

Early sales projections are in for the new BTS album.

Update: With more data available, Hits Daily Double has narrowed its opening week US sales and consumption projections for the new BTS album.

The publication now says the group’s “Map Of The Soul: Persona” will sell 175-185K pure US copies this week. With units from track sales and streams included, it may generate 210-225K in total first-week consumption.

The numbers would represent career bests for BTS. They would also secure the group its third consecutive (and total) #1 album in the United States.

“Map Of The Soul: Persona” is on track to become BTS’ third #1 album in the United States.

Based on early data, Hits Daily Double expects the new album to sell 160-190K pure US copies this week. With units from track sales and streams included, it may generate 200-240K in total first-week consumption. Both numbers would be career highs for BTS.

Given the 5AM ET release time, the projections may be rougher than is usually the case for the early report.

Still, barring any surprise mid-week developments, the numbers suggest “Persona” is on track to comfortably debut atop the pure sales and consumption charts.

The album will follow “Love Yourself: Tear” and “Love Yourself: Answer” in ruling the US album charts.
