Indiana Massara’s cover of “I Think We’re Alone Now” continues to attract attention at US pop radio. The song has received roughly 150 spins in the past seven days, by far representing a new high for the singer-actress.
According to Mediabase, Radio Disney ranks as the song’s top supporter. The family-oriented pop station played the song 50 times in the seven days ending April 11.
Radio Disney, of course, has supported several of Massara’s past releases. The real story is the airplay she is receiving from other stations.
Milwaukee’s 103.7 KISS has played “I Think We’re Alone Now” over 30 times in the aforementioned seven-day window, while Rio Grande Valley’s 107.9 Mix FM has offered 20.
Atlantic City’s 95.1 WAYV and Beaumont/Port Arthur’s Q94 have also provided double-digit spin counts.
Other current supporters include Gainesville’s Q92 and Puerto Rico’s Hot 102.
No, these are generally not major market stations. Much of the airplay is meanwhile coming in the “overnight” daypart (often used for testing songs). Still, the airplay is an encouraging sign for the emerging artist.
