Although it is still formally branded as a BBC America series, “Killing Eve” will simulcast on AMC for the entirety of its second season.
The concurrent broadcasting plan began with this Sunday’s season premiere. Naturally, the combination of AMC and BBC America telecasts resulted in a series-high performance.
According to live+same-day data posted by Showbuzz, the AMC version of “Killing Eve” drew a 0.15 adults 18-49 rating and averaged 0.77 million overall viewers. The BBC America broadcast added a 0.10 and 0.40 million viewers.
The combined 0.25 rating and 1.17 million viewer mark represent clear highs for the show, which never went above a 0.13 rating and 0.70 million for its BBC America-only first season.
In fairness, the combined numbers do not make for a blockbuster performance, and they do not reflect enormous growth in response to the first season’s immense acclaim.
Still, they are solid for a cable drama in 2019. And insofar as the show has already been renewed for a third season, BBC America and AMC are clearly happy with how the show is resonating.
