“The Dirt” Soundtrack Becomes Motley Crue’s First Top 10 Album In Almost 11 Years

The soundtrack starts at #10 on this week’s Billboard 200.

As the film adaptation of Motley Crue’s “The Dirt” launched on Netflix, the accompanying soundtrack made waves in the music industry.

The official soundtrack starts at #10 on this week’s Billboard 200 chart, which ranks albums based on units from pure album sales, track sales and track streams.

While pure album sales predictably made up a big chunk of the debut tally (it was one of the week’s Top 5 pure sellers), “The Dirt” posted non-trivial track sales and streaming numbers.

In debuting at #10, “The Dirt” becomes Motley Crue’s first Top 10 album since “Saints Of Los Angeles” earned #4 in 2008.

The album is the band’s ninth Top 10 overall.
