Benny Blanco, Halsey & Khalid’s former pop radio #1 “Eastside” appears headed for the top of the Mediabase hot adult contemporary chart. It may get there as soon as this week.
“Eastside” received 3,448 spins during the first four days of the March 24-30 tracking period. The count puts the collaboration in a tight, three-song race for #1 on this week’s chart.
Dean Lewis’ “Be Alright” is currently #1 on the building chart with 3,476 spins. Halsey’s own “Without Me” is #3 with 3,445.
Given the minimal differential between the three songs, each represents a contender for #1 on the final chart.
“Eastside” does, however, have a clear momentum advantage. Where its count is up 5% from last week, “Be Alright” and “Without Me” are down 3% and 4%, respectively. If the three songs remain on their current trajectories, “Eastside” will pull ahead by the time the chart goes final.
And even if it misses #1 this week, it would presumably be a heavy favorite for #1 on the following week’s listing.
