Bruno Mars Receives New US Song Certifications; Now Ties Justin Bieber For 6th-Most Units

Bruno Mars is credited with 69.5 million in certified US single units.

On March 13, the RIAA issued several new digital single certifications to Bruno Mars. The new certifications move Bruno Mars up the all-time leaderboard for most certified digital single units.

More specifically, Mars is now tied with Justin Bieber for the sixth-greatest total. Each artist has 69.5 million in certified digital single units as a lead artist.

The new Bruno Mars certifications include a 7x platinum award for “Locked Out Of Heaven” (7 million), a 6x platinum award for “The Lazy Song” (6 million), a 5x platinum award for “It Will Rain” (5 million), and a 4x platinum award for “Treasure” (4 million).

Each unit is equal to 1 paid download or 150 streams.

Drake remains the all-time leader with 148 million certified US digital single units. Rihanna follows at #2 with 125 million, while Taylor Swift sits at #3 with 120 million.

Eminem (107.5 million) and Katy Perry (99 million) complete the Top 5.
