“The Sinner” Renewed For Season 3; Bill Pullman Returning, Matt Bomer Joining

USA has ordered a third season of “The Sinner.”

While it did not generate the buzz or ratings of the inaugural installment, season two of USA Network’s “The Sinner” still attracted a solid audience by cable standards.

Interest was high enough to yield a third season.

USA formally confirmed the renewal in a Thursday morning announcement.

In addition to the returning Bill Pullman (Detective Harry Ambrose), season three will welcome Matt Bomer as a series regular.

Bomer will play “Jamie, an upstanding Dorchester resident and expectant father who looks to Ambrose for support in the wake of an accident.”

Per the official NBC synopsis, the new season “follows Detective Harry Ambrose as he begins a routine investigation of a tragic car accident on the outskirts of Dorchester, in upstate New York. Ambrose uncovers a hidden crime that pulls him into the most dangerous and disturbing case of his career. “
