Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper’s “A Star Is Born” Soundtrack Rules US Sales Race, Returns To #1

The “A Star Is Born” soundtrack reclaims #1 on this week’s Billboard 200.

Powered by enduring support, Oscar buzz and discounts at key online retailers, Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper’s “A Star Is Born” soundtrack won this week’s US album sales and consumption races.

Celebrating its fourth overall week at #1, “A Star Is Born” dethrones Ariana Grande’s “thank u, next.” That album, which was on track for a third week at #1 prior to the Oscars jolt, slips to #2 this week.

Hits Daily Double and BuzzAngle say “A Star Is Born” takes #1 on the sales chart with 76K pure US copies during the February 22-February 28 tracking period. With units from track sales and streams included, that figure jumps up to 125K — enough for a #1 slot on the Hits Top 50 consumption chart.

Billboard reports the pure sales number at 76K (enough for #1 on the Billboard Top Album Sales chart) and the consumption figure at 128K (enough for #1 on the Billboard 200).
