Both Ella Mai and H.E.R. are in contention for “Big Four” awards at tonight’s Grammy ceremony.
They were also up for trophies in R&B categories that were revealed during the Sunday afternoon premiere telecast. They, more importantly, were both victorious.
Ella Mai’s “Boo’d Up” won for Best R&B Song; a songwriting award, the trophy also goes to co-writers Larrance Dopson, Joelle James and Dijon McFarlane.
H.E.R. meanwhile earned the Best R&B Performance honor for “Best Part.” She shares the honor with Daniel Caesar, who is featured on the track.
