“Aquaman” Again Rules US Friday Box Office, Pacing For Another Weekend Victory

“Aquaman” will spend a second week at #1.

No major new films opened Friday, allowing “Aquaman” to comfortably retain its place atop the leaderboard.

The superhero film added $17.1 million to its haul Friday night. The day’s best total, the figure paces “Aquaman” for a weekend haul in the $49-55 million range. With such a gross, “Aquaman” will claim first place on a second consecutive weekend leaderboard.

Credited with $10.6 million in receipts, “Mary Poppins Returns” took second place Friday. It should earn a total of $30-35 million this weekend.

“BumbleBee” earned third place with $6.8 million (on pace for a $17-22 million weekend), while “Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse” grabbed #4 with $6.4 million (on pace for a $16-21 million weekend).

“The Mule,” Friday’s #5 film, added $4.0 million to its running total (on pace for an $11-15 million weekend).
