Ariana Grande’s “thank u, next” Earns #1 On Billboard Hot 100 Chart; It’s Her First #1

“thank u, next” becomes Ariana Grande’s first chart-topper.

Powered by strong opening week sales and streaming numbers, Ariana Grande’s “thank u, next” will claim #1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Headline Planet can confirm the achievement, which should be formally announced by Billboard later Monday. “thank u, next” will dethrone Maroon 5’s “Girls Like You (featuring Cardi B),” which spent seven weeks at #1.

“thank u, next” will represent Grande’s first #1 on the chart. She had previously peaked at #2 with “Problem (featuring Iggy Azalea).”

In addition to ruling the Hot 100, “thank u, next” is expected to claim #1 on this week’s Billboard Digital Song Sales and Streaming Songs subcharts. Although it will not chart prominently on Radio Songs, it did receive a healthy amount of early airplay.
