The rumors were true: Ariana Grande released her new song “thank u, next” at 11PM ET Saturday night.
“Thank U, Next,” which name-drops Grande’s ex-boyfriends, is reportedly set as the title track from the pop star’s next studio album. Grande has been hyping the album across her social media in recent weeks — a noteworthy move given that she just released her fourth studio album “sweetener” this summer.
“thank u, next” received immediate airplay upon launch, although it is unclear whether label Republic Records plans to formally promote the song. As it is, Grande has two active singles at pop radio: “God is a woman,” which is about to hit #1 on the Mediabase pop radio airplay chart, and “breathin,” which will join the Top 10 this week.
