Josh Groban’s “Bridges” Wins US Sales Race, But Brockhampton’s “Iridescence” Takes #1 On Billboard 200

We have a split-chart scenario, as “Bridges” wins for pure sales but “Iridescence” leads for total units.

The Billboard and Hits Daily Double album charts feature the same two albums in the top positions.

Josh Groban’s new “Bridges” takes #1 for pure sales and #2 for total units/ Brockhampton’s debuting “Iridescence” meanwhile earns #1 for total units and #2 for pure sales.

Both Hits and Billboard say that “Bridges” sold 94K pure US copies during the September 21-27 tracking period. With TEA (units from track sales) and SEA (units from track streams) included, the album generated 96K in total consumption.

Hits says that “Iridescence” generated 106K units, with 83K coming from pure sales. Billboard reports the numbers as 101K and 79K, respectively.

Based on those tallies, “Bridges” earns #1 on the Billboard Top Album Sales and Hits Daily Double pure sales charts. “Iridescence” meanwhile earns #2 on those charts.

The Brockhampton album meanwhile earns #1 on the Billboard 200 and Hits Top 50 consumption charts; “Bridges” is the runner-up for consumption.

Both albums benefited from promotional bundles. “Bridges” received a sales boost courtesy of a concert ticket/album promotion (redeemed albums count as sales). “Iridescence” generated a considerable number of album sales via direct-to-consumer bundles on the group’s website.
