FOX’s Monday dramas “The Resident” and “9-1-1” posted solid numbers this week.
According to fast national data posted by Showbuzz, the season premiere of “The Resident” drew a 1.1 adults 18-49 rating and averaged 4.85 million overall viewers. The numbers are the show’s best since the fourth broadcast of the first season (1.1, 4.87 million viewers on February 5, 201*).
Relocated “9-1-1” drew a 1.6 adults 18-49 rating and 6.56 million viewers for its time period premiere. The numbers are light in comparison to those drawn by Sunday’s football-boosted season premiere (2.6, 9.83 million), but they are on par with the typical first season performance.
They, moreover, are strong by modern broadcast standards.
Shows often fall in the weeks following their season premieres, but if “The Resident” and “9-1-1” can stabilize in this general territory, it is hard to imagine FOX being anything but pleased.
