Matthew Rhys, Claire Foy Earn Emmy Awards For Lead Acting In A Drama Series

Stars from “The Americans” and “The Crown” won lead acting awards.

Matthew Rhys received critical raves for his work in all six season of “The Americans.”

He received an Emmy for his work in the final season.

Rhys won the award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series. His performance beat out turns from Milo Ventimiglia, Sterling K. Brown, Jason Bateman, Jeffrey Wright, and Ed Harris.

Moments after Rhys received his Emmy, Claire Foy won the award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. Foy stars in Netflix’s “The Crown.”

Other Lead Actress nominees included Evan Rachel Wood, Elisabeth Moss, Sandra Oh, Keri Russell, and Tatiana Maslany.
