USA’s “The Purge” Delivers Solid Premiere Ratings

Tuesday’s “The Purge” premiere posted good numbers.

The inaugural edition of USA Network’s “The Purge” delivered solid ratings.

According to live+same-day data posted by Showbuzz, the adaptation opened with a 0.55 adults 18-49 rating. It averaged 1.39 million overall viewers.

A Syfy simulcast added a 0.12 in the demo and 0.37 million in overall viewership.

The USA numbers are fairly on par with the 0.58 rating and 1.47 million viewer mark drawn by the premiere of previous timeslot occupant “Miz & Mrs.” That show, it should be noted, benefited from strong synergy with its WWE SmackDown! Live lead-in (stars Mike “The Miz” and Maryse Mizanin are WWE performers).

“The Purge” was Tuesday’s #4 cable original in adults 18-49, trailing FX’s “Mayans MC,” BET’s “The Bobby Brown Story,” and the aforementioned SmackDown! Live.
