Ratings: “Sharp Objects” Rises Ahead Of Finale

The penultimate edition of “Sharp Objects” enjoyed ratings gains.

Last week’s “Sharp Objects” endured losses in adults 18-49 and overall viewership.

This week’s episode won back those losses — and then some.

According to live+same-day data posted by Showbuzz, Sunday’s “Sharp Objects” drew a 0.38 adults 18-49 rating and averaged 1.25 million viewers.

The numbers, which best the 0.32 rating and 1.13 million viewer mark posted by last week’s episode, are the show’s best since the series premiere.

Sunday’s “Sharp Objects” marked the show’s penultimate episodes. Across its first seven episodes, it is averaging a 0.33 in the demo and 1.17 million in overall viewership.

While they do not position “Sharp Objects” as a hit, the numbers are ultimately fine by conventional cable standards. It is also important to remember that HBO series receive big lifts from streaming, on-demand, encore and DVR viewership.

The finale airs next week.

HBO’s Sunday also included “Ballers” (0.39, 0.91 million viewers), “Insecure” (0.29, 0.67 million), and “Last Week Tonight” (0.38, 1.17 million).
