“Crazy Rich Asians” Wins US Weekend Box Office; “Mile 22” Takes #3

“Crazy Rich Asians” dethrones “The Meg” at the US weekend box office.

The critically acclaimed “Crazy Rich Asians” debuts atop the US weekend box office chart.

“Crazy Rich Asians” takes #1 thanks to an estimated three-day haul of $25.2 million. With its Wednesday and Thursday numbers included, its running total now stands at $34.0 million.

“The Meg,” last weekend’s winner, takes #2 this weekend. It added $21.2 million to its tally (cume now $83.8 million).

Newcomer “Mile 22” lands in third with a modest $13.6 million, while fellow new release “Alpha” takes #4 on the strength of its $10.5 million.

“Mission: Impossible – Fallout,” which earned another $10.5 million, falls three places to #5 on the chart (cume now $180.7 million).
