Ella Mai’s “Trip” Received Opening Day Airplay At Urban & Rhythmic Radio

The follow-up to Ella Mai’s “Boo’d Up” received first day airplay.

“Trip,” the follow-up to Ella Mai’s breakthrough hit “Boo’d Up,” officially launched Friday.

Numerous urban and rhythmic radio stations provided opening day airplay.

According to Mediabase, Cincinnati’s 101.1 The Wiz ranked as top early supporter at urban radio. It had played the song 10 times by the end of Friday.

Other early urban leaders include Atlanta’s V-103.3 (8 spins), Jacksonville’s 96.9 The Eagle (8 spins), DC’s 93.9 WKYS (7 spins), Atlanta’s Hot 107.9 (7 spins), Detroit’s Hot 107.5 (7 spins) and Raleigh-Durham’s K97.5 (7 spins).

San Francisco’s KMEL (19 spins) and Dallas’ 97.9 The Beat (10 spins) led the way at rhythmic.

“Boo’d Up” spent multiple weeks atop the urban radio airplay chart, while peaking at #2 at the rhythmic listing. It still holds a Top 3 position at both formats.
