Report: Drake’s “Scorpion” Wins 3rd US Album Sales Race, Will Stay #1 On Billboard 200

“Scorpion” will retain the #1 positions on this week’s key US album charts.

Drake’s “Scorpion” spends a third week as America’s #1 album.

According to Hits Daily Double, “Scorpion” sold another 24.6K pure US copies during the July 13-19 tracking period. The inclusion of SEA (track sales/10) and TEA (track streams/1250 for paid services, track streams/3750 for free services) yields an opening-week consumption tally of about 266.5K.

While Billboard’s more authoritative data may differ slightly, the end result should be the same. The pure sales total will earn “Scorpion” #1 on Top Album Sales, while the consumption tally will be enough for another dominant week atop the Billboard 200.

The closest competitor on the sales front will either be the soundtrack to “The Greatest Showman” (~16.6K) or “Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again” (~15.2K). Wiz Khalifa’s “Rolling Papers 2” (~80.0K) will likely take second place for overall consumption.
