Taylor Swift’s “Delicate” Leading Race For #1 At Pop Radio

“Delicate” is set to become the first multi-format #1 from the “reputation” album.

Taylor Swift’s “Delicate” was #5 on this past week’s Mediabase pop radio chart.

It will very likely reach #1 this week.

“Delicate” received 6,749 spins during the first three days of the July 15-21 tracking period. Up 17% from the count at this point last week, the tally slots “Delicate” at #1 on Mediabase’s building chart.

Barring a sudden (and highly unlikely) collapse, “Delicate” should be able to retain its lead through the close of tracking.

“Delicate” currently maintains a 419-spin lead over Marshmello & Anne-Marie’s “FRIENDS,” which occupies #2 on the building chart. It also has the momentum advantage; whereas “Delicate” is up 17% from last week’s mark, “FRIENDS” is up by only 3%.

As they are both fading, neither Ariana Grande’s “No Tears Left To Cry” (#3 on building / 6,284 spins, -9%) nor Bazzi’s “Mine” (#4 on building / 6,273 spins, -10%) represents a credible threat. Maroon 5’s “Girls Like You (featuring Cardi B)” is gaining at a faster pace, but it will not be able to close the gap this week (#5 on building / 5,870 spins, +24%).

Assuming it holds onto its lead, “Delicate” will become the first multi-format #1 from the “reputation” era. It is also the reigning leader at hot adult contemporary radio.

Lead single “Look What You Made Me Do” spent a week atop the pop chart but did not rule elsewhere.
