“Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation” Wins US Weekend Box Office; “Skyscraper” #3

“Hotel Transylvania 3” was America’s top-grossing film this weekend.

“Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacations” claims first place on the US weekend box office chart.

Per studio estimates, the film will close the weekend with about $44.1 million. Shy of the $48.5 million earned by “Hotel Transylvania 2” but better than the $42.5 grossed by the original, the figure is enough for a comfortable #1 at this weekend’s box office.

“Ant-Man And The Wasp,” which took #1 last week, falls to #2 this week. It added $28.9 million to its haul (cume now $132.8 million).

New release “Skyscraper” debuts at #3 with a soft $25.5 million. “Incredibles 2” follows at #4 with $16.2 million (cume now $535.8 million), while “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” grabs #5 with $15.5 million (cume now $363.3 million).

— “Sorry To Bother You” expanded to just over 800 screens this week — and moves into the Top 10. It takes #7 on this weekend’s chart with $4.3 million (cume now $5.3 million).
