Ratings: “Power” Falls From Last Premiere, Still Wins Night With Young Adults

The fifth season premiere of “Power” was down from the fourth season opener.

Sunday’s “Power,” which opened the Starz drama’s fifth season, did not perform as well as the fourth season opener.

It still fared quite well from a competitive standpoint.

According to live+same-day data posted by Showbuzz, “Power” drew a 0.62 adults 18-49 rating and averaged 1.55 million overall viewers. Last year’s premiere drew a 0.78 rating and 1.68 million viewers.

Despite the decline, “Power” still ranked as Sunday’s #1 cable original in adults 18-49. Demographic ratings are less important to a subscription-based network like Starz than they are to ad-supported channels, but the victory still provides bragging rights.
