The fourth single from Taylor Swift’s “reputation” will be the first to reach #1 at hot adult contemporary radio.
“Delicate,” that single, is quickly approaching the top of the Mediabase Hot AC chart. It may claim that throne as soon as this week.
“Delicate” received 3,439 spins during the first four days of the June 24-30 tracking period. The count reflects a week-over-week gain of 10.4%.
While “Delicate” is currently #2 on Mediabase’s building chart, it has a legitimate chance of reaching #1 by the close of tracking. It trails Zedd, Maren Morris & Grey’s building #1 “The Middle” by a mere 59 spins — and boasts a considerable momentum advantage.
Whereas “Delicate” is up 10.4% from the count at this point last week, “The Middle” is down 0.5%. If they remain on those rough trajectories, “Delicate” will move past “The Middle” by the end of the week.
And even if “The Middle” maintains its lead this week, “Delicate” would be a near-lock for #1 on next week’s listing.
