As has been the case more often than not this year, Cardi B is the highest-ranking solo female act on this week’s Billboard Artist 100.
Cardi B takes #7 on the overall chart, which ranks the top artists based on American album and song consumption as well as factors like social media activity.
Aided by the release of her album “Liberation,” Christina Aguilera takes second among solo female artists. She is #8 on the overall chart.
Ariana Grande is #3 for females (and #14 overall), while Taylor Swift is #4 for females (and #17 overall). Nicki Minaj closes out the Top 5 for solo female acts (she is #19 on the overall chart).
Other high-ranking female artists include Camila Cabello (#6 female, #21 overall), Dua Lipa (#7 female, #22 overall), Ella Mai (#8 female, #31 overall), Halsey (#9 female, #43 overall), and Selena Gomez (#10 female, #46 overall).
The “solo” distinction is important this week. The Carters – consisting of male Jay-Z and female Beyonce – appear at a higher position (#3 on the overall list) than any individual female act this week. Female four-piece BLACKPINK (#33 on the overall list) would appear in the Top 10 if group acts were included.
