XXXTentacion’s “SAD!” Rockets To #1 On Hot 100; The Carters’ “APES**T” Debuts At #13

“SAD!” soars to #1 following the artist’s death.

In the wake of his murder last Monday, XXXTentacion’s “SAD!” received enormous lifts in sales and streaming. Those lifts were enough to thrust “SAD!” to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The song was #52 on last week’s chart. Prior to this week, it had peaked at #7.

“SAD!” becomes the late artist’s first #1 hit on the all-genre Hot 100.

Cardi B, Bad Bunny & J Balvin’s “I Like It” rises to #2 this week, while Drake’s “Nice For What” slips from #1 to #3. Up two places, Juice WRLD’s “Lucid Dreams” makes its first Top 5 appearance at #5.

Maroon 5’s “Girls Like You (featuring Cardi B)” holds at #5.

The balance of the Top 10: Post Malone’s “Psycho (featuring Ty Dolla $ign)” (#6, -4), Ella Mai’s “Boo’d Up” (#7, =), Drake’s “God’s Plan” (#8, -4), Ariana Grande’s “No Tears Left To Cry” (#9, =) and Zedd, Maren Morris & Grey’s “The Middle” (#10, -2).

— The top new entry comes from The Carters’ “APES**T.” The Beyonce-Jay-Z collaboration starts at #13 on this week’s listing.
