US Box Office: “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” Falls Short Of Predecessor, Still Wins Weekend

“Jurassic World” comfortably won this weekend’s US box office race. “Incredibles 2” also had a big weekend.

While it was not as potent as 2015 predecessor “Jurassic World,” the new “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” still dominated the US weekend box office.

According to studio estimates, “Fallen Kingdom” will close the weekend with $150.0 million. The figure trails the $208.8 million earned by the previous film but tops that earned by anything else this weekend.

“Incredibles 2,” which takes second place, added $80.9 million to its haul. Its cumulative gross now stands at an impressive $350.4 million.

“Ocean’s 8” falls one spot to #3 with $11.7 million (cume now $100.4 million), while “Tag” slips a place to #4 with $8.2 million (cume now $30.4 million).

“Deadpool 2,” again the #5 film, earned another $5.3 million. The weekend figure brings the film’s cume to $304.2 million.
