Ratings: “Drop The Mic” Rises For Pro Wrestling Episode

The pro wrestling-themed edition of “Drop The Mic” outperformed last week’s episode.

Sunday’s edition of TBS’ “Drop The Mic” posted week-over-week gains in adults 18-49 and overall viewership.

According to live+same-day data posted by Showbuzz, Sunday’s “Drop The Mic” delivered a 0.27 adults 18-49 rating and averaged 0.64 million overall viewers.

Last week’s episode posted a 0.19 in the demo and 0.53 million in viewership.

This Sunday’s “Drop The Mic” featured a pro wrestling theme. One battle pit four women from WWE against four cast members from Netflix’s “GLOW” series.

The other saw wrestling great Chris Jericho battle Laila Ali.

While the wrestling theme may have contributed to the ratings boost, it is also important to consider the competitive landscape. Last week’s episode faced competition from the NBA Finals; this Sunday’s episode faced no such challenge.

“Drop The Mic” also benefited from increased lead-in support; “Snoop Dogg’s Jokers Wild” drew a 0.29 rating and 0.81 million viewers this week, compared with a 0.24 rating and 0.78 million viewer mark last week.
