When confirmation emerged that Alessia Cara would be performing as part of this summer’s TODAY concert series, it became abundantly clear that the artist was on the verge of releasing new music.
The Grammy winner doubled down on that notion last week by sharing teaser clips and imagery on her social media accounts. While she never explicitly confirmed that the teasers were related to new music, the implication was pretty clear.
As the clock struck 12:01AM this Friday, the artist provided what appears to be a release date for the new single.
Cara posted an image that includes June 15 at the center. As it falls on a Friday, June 15 represents a chart-centric (and thus rather logical) time to release a new song.
The June 15 date, it should be noted, appears on a bandage. The bandage also appears in a teaser graphic Cara has been using since last week.
Further details, such as the name of the song or the promotional strategy, were not available at press time.
