Is Monsta X about to command attention at pop radio in the United States?
A step has been made toward making that possibility a reality. Gramophone has made the K-pop group’s “Jealousy” available to mainstream radio programmers.
At least one station has already offered airplay. Oklahoma’s KJ103, which provided ample support to singles from K-pop group BTS, played Monsta X’s “Jealousy” last week.
Neither an impact date nor a formal promotional plan has yet been confirmed for “Jealousy.” The very idea that it is available to US radio nonetheless represents a victory for Monsta X — and the K-pop genre.
Available on the StarshipTV channel, the official “Jealousy” video boasts over 7 million YouTube views.
