Tim “Avicii” Bergling Found Dead In Oman; He Was 28

The EDM superstar was found dead Friday afternoon.

Global EDM superstar Tim “Avicii” Bergling has died. He was 28.

A representative for the artist confirmed the news in a statement, noting that his body was discovered in Muscat, Oman Friday afternoon.

“It is with profound sorrow that we announce the loss of Tim Bergling, also known as Avicii,” says the statement. “He was found dead in Muscat, Oman this Friday afternoon local time, April 20th. The family is devastated and we ask everyone to please respect their need for privacy in this difficult time. No further statements will be given.”

A cause of death has not been revealed.

Long recognized as a major superstar within the EDM community, Avicii scored international success with hits like “Levels,” “Wake Me Up,” and “Hey Brother.”

After embarking on a brief hiatus, he returned with a new EP in 2017. “Lonely Together,” one of the songs from the EP, made big waves on some international charts.
