Ratings: FOX’s “Empire” Drops But Still Wins Night, “STAR” Holds Steady

How did “Empire” and “STAR” fare on April 18?

Wednesday night’s edition of “Empire” endured week-over-week losses in adults 18-49 and overall viewership.

“STAR” was flat in adults 18-49 but down slightly in viewers.

According to fast national data posted by Showbuzz, this week’s “Empire” drew a 1.7 adults 18-49 rating and 5.32 million overall viewers.

The numbers trail the 1.9 rating and 5.91 million viewer mark garnered by last week’s “Empire.”

While “Empire” often receives slight upward adjustments in the afternoon/final ratings report, it is highly unlikely such adjustments will allow this week’s episode to close the gap.

It is worth noting that “Empire” faced competition from NBC’s “The Voice,” which had a rare Wednesday night episode this week. It is also worth noting that “Empire” still ranked as Wednesday’s #1 show in adults 18-49.

Leading out of “Empire,” Wednesday’s “STAR” drew a 1.3 rating and 4.04 million overall viewers. Last week’s episode drew the same 1.3 rating but reached 4.22 million viewers.
