The Billboard Music Awards nominations are largely based on commercial and fan interaction data, as indicated by Billboard’s portfolio of charts.
It should therefore come as no surprise that Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars and Kendrick Lamar — three acts that dominated this year’s charts — fared well in Tuesday’s nominations announcement.
Each artist received a whopping 15 nominations; they tie as this year’s most nominated acts.
Other top nominees include Post Malone (13), Imagine Dragons (11), Drake (9), Justin Bieber (8) and Cardi B (8).
The full list of nominees follows; the ceremony takes place on May 20.
