After spending the past few weeks just outside the Top 10, Cardi B jumps to #6 on this week’s edition of the Billboard Artist 100.
The placement positions her as the week’s highest-ranking female artist. She takes over the “#1 female artist” label from Camila Cabello, who held the distinction for the past four weeks.
The Artist 100 ranks the top artists in America based on data from key Billboard charts (including the Billboard 200, Billboard Hot 100 and Social 50). While pre-release tracks like “Bodak Yellow,” “Bartier Cardi,” “Be Careful,” and “Drip” contribute to this week’s position (as do collaborations like “Finesse”), the balance of Cardi B’s “Invasion Of Privacy” album will not make its impact until next week’s chart. She is fully expected to rank as the #1 overall artist next week.
Kacey Musgraves, who appears at #9 on the overall Artist 100, ranks as the #2 female performer. She re-enters the chart thanks to the release of her album “Golden Hour.”
Cabello (#13 overall), Dua Lipa (#18 overall), and Taylor Swift (#19 overall) complete the Top 5 for female artists.
Other high-ranking female artists include Halsey (#21 overall), Demi Lovato (#25 overall), SZA (#28 overall), P!nk (#33 overall), and Hayley Kiyoko (#35 overall).
