Ratings: Freeform’s “Siren” Declines In Week Two

“Siren” predictably fell from last week’s series premiere.

Freeform’s “Siren” was not immune to the post-premiere drop that plagues so many shows.

According to live+same-day data posted by Showbuzz, Thursday’s “Siren” drew a 0.23 adults 18-49 rating and averaged 0.62 million overall viewers.

Last week’s premiere, which consisted of back-to-back episode, averaged a 0.30 in the demo and 0.87 million in viewership.

While the drop is certainly not trivial, a 0.23 rating is not bad for a cable drama in today’s television landscape.

Granted, there is no guarantee the show will stabilize at this level. Some new shows endure declines for several weeks — if not for the entirety of their inaugural seasons.

On the other hand, data for the premiere suggests “Siren” may fare well with DVR and multi-platform viewers. While delayed and non-linear viewing is not nearly as valuable to advertisers as live viewership, it definitely carries some importance in the contemporary entertainment climate.
