The Weeknd’s “My Dear Melancholy” Reclaims #1 On iTunes Sales Chart; Kacey Musgraves #2

“My Dear Melancholy” and “Golden Hour” occupy the top two slots on US iTunes.

Update: Upon launching on the US iTunes store Thursday night, The Weeknd’s “My Dear Melancholy” EP shot to #1 on the all-genre album sales chart.

By 1:35AM ET Friday, it had ceded that throne to Kacey Musgraves’ critically acclaimed new release “Golden Hour.”

As Friday morning progressed, The Weeknd’s new EP recaptured the #1 spot. “My Dear Melancholy” remains in that pinnacle position as of press time at 9AM ET Friday.

Musgraves’ “Golden Hour” is now #2, while Hayley Kiyoko’s new “Expectations” follows at #3. Steffany Gretzinger’s “Blackout” (#4) and Ashley McBryde’s “Going Nowhere” (#5) complete the Top 5.

The Weeknd’s “My Dear Melancholy” EP rocketed to #1 on the US iTunes sales chart upon debuting late Thursday night.

As of press time at 1:35AM ET Friday, it no longer occupies the throne.

Kacey Musgraves’ “Golden Hour,” another new release, now ranks as the store’s #1 album. “My Dear Melancholy” is #2 on the listing.

Hayley Kiyoko’s new “Expectations” follows at #3, while Steffany Gretzinger’s new “Blackout” occupies the #4 position.

The #5 position belongs to Ashley McBryde’s newly released “Girl Going Nowhere.”

The enduring “The Greatest Showman” soundtrack (#6), Rich The Kid’s new “The World Is Yours” (#7), Andrew Peterson’s new “Resurrection Letters, Vol. 1” (#8), Light The Torch’s new “Revival” (#9), and Red Sun Rising’s “Thread” (#10) complete the Top 10.
