Ratings: “STAR,” “Empire” Return With Most-Watched Episodes Since Season Premieres

Both shows also won their timeslots in adults 18-49; “Empire” won the night in that demo.

Off since December, FOX’s dramas “STAR” and “Empire” returned to the air Wednesday.

Both shows posted their best live+same-day viewership marks since their fall 2017 season premieres. They also won their timeslots in adults 18-49.

According to fast national data posted by Showbuzz, “STAR” drew a 1.5 adults 18-49 rating and averaged 4.70 million overall viewers.

The viewership figure is the best since the 5.40 million drawn by the second season premiere. The demo rating ties that of the October 11 episode in ranking as the best since that September 27 season two premiere.

“Empire” opened the night with a 2.0 rating and 6.14 million viewer figure. It, too, delivered the best viewership figure since its most recent season premiere (7.05 million on September 27). It tied the highest demo mark since that season four opener (two other episodes drew a 2.0 rating this season).

“STAR” won its timeslot in adults 18-49; “Empire” won the entire night in that demo.
