Maroon 5’s “What Lovers Do” Reaches 2x Platinum; “Wait” Earns Gold Honor

Maroon 5 receives RIAA certifications for “What Lovers Do (featuring SZA)” and “Wait.”

Maroon 5’s two most recent singles just attained new digital certifications in the United States.

According to the RIAA, the band’s “What Lovers Do (featuring SZA)” earned a 2x platinum award on March 14, 2018. The honor confirms 2 million in US units; each unit is equal to 1 paid download or 150 streams.

Current single “Wait” attained gold status on the same day. The award signifies 500,000 in US units.

“What Lovers Do” peaked at #9 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

“Wait” has thus far gone as high as #39 on the listing.
