L+SD Ratings: “The Assassination Of Gianni Versace” Enjoys Increase In Week Eight

FX’s “American Crime Story” was up in adults 18-49 and overall viewership.

Wednesday’s Matt Bomer-directed installment of “The Assassination Of Gianni Versace” enjoyed a week-over-week gain in live+same-day viewership.

According to L+SD data posted by Showbuzz, the 90-minute episode drew a 0.30 adults 18-49 rating and averaged 998,000 overall viewers.

Last week’s episode drew a 0.28 rating and 917,000 viewers.

While the increase is certainly welcome, “Versace” remains a modest ratings performer in comparison to the previous, OJ Simpson-centric iteration of “American Crime Story.”

The eighth episode of that season drew a 1.19 in the demo and 2.91 million in overall viewership.

“Versace,” nonetheless, remains a respectable live+same-day performer by cable drama standards. It is also receives big lifts from DVR and multi-platform viewing.

FX stresses the importance of that delayed/non-linear viewership when evaluating shows in today’s era.
