Many music fans and analysts presumed that “Black Panther: The Album” would retain the #1 spot on this week’s Billboard 200.
That presumption was, evidently, incorrect.
Based on new projections shared by Hits Daily Double, Bon Jovi’s “This House Is Not For Sale” actually represents the frontrunner to claim #1 on the Billboard 200.
It should also top the Top Album Sales (pure sales) chart.
Benefiting from a wave of concert ticket/album bundle redemptions (which count as sales), the 2016 album should sell 114-124,000 pure US copies this week. The inclusion of TEA (track sales/10) and SEA (track streams/1500) should yield a consumption tally in the 115-125,000 range.
The pure sales figure will definitely be enough for a #1 bow on Top Album Sales.
The consumption tally will very likely secure “This House” #1 on the Billboard 200. “Black Panther,” which represents the closest threat, is pacing for 104-109,000 total units.
“This House Is Not For Sale” debuted at #1 upon release in the fall of 2016.
