Drake’s “God’s Plan” Likely Headed For #1 At Rhythmic Radio

“God’s Plan” is pacing to overtake “Finesse” on the rhythmic chart.

Bruno Mars & Cardi B’s “Finesse,” the reigning #1 at rhythmic radio, is actually up in airplay this week.

Unfortunately, it may not be gaining quickly enough to hold off an emerging threat from below.

Drake’s “God’s Plan,” that threat, is currently on track take over #1 on this week’s Mediabase rhythmic chart.

“God’s Plan” received 3,648 spins during the first four days of the February 18-24 tracking period. Up a whopping 21.3% from the count at this point last week, the tally slots “God’s Plan” at #1 on Mediabase’s building chart.

“Finesse” is down to #2 on the building chart. Its spin count of 3,610 is nonetheless up 5.2% from last week.

Because “God’s Plan” does not hold a huge lead and because both songs are rising, it is too early to guarantee a victory for “God’s Plan.”

The race does, however, appear to be heading in that direction.

“God’s Plan,” which is already #1 at urban radio, is only in its fifth week on the rhythmic chart.
