Three Pentatonix recordings — two covers and one original — just received new certifications in the United States.
According to the RIAA, the a capella group’s covers of “Mary, Did You Know?” and “Hallelujah” attained platinum status on February 9, 2018.
Original radio single “Can’t Sleep Love” went gold that same day.
The platinum honors confirm 1 million in US units, while the gold award signifies 500,000.
Each unit is equal to 1 paid download or 150 streams.
“Mary, Did You Know?” appears on the group’s double-platinum album “That’s Christmas To Me.” “Hallelujah” is featured on the platinum “A Pentatonix Christmas,” while “Can’t Sleep Love” appears on the group’s gold-certified, self-titled album.
