The wave of new Australian song certifications includes double-platinum awards for songs by Bebe Rexha & Florida Georgia Line, Maroon 5, Macklemore, Demi Lovato, and Justin Bieber & BloodPop.
Rexha & Florida Georgia Line picked up the award for “Meant To Be,” while Maroon 5 grabbed a 2x platinum certification for “What Lovers Do (featuring SZA).”
Macklemore attains double-platinum with “Good Old Days (featuring Kesha).”
The Lovato and Bieber/BloodPop certifications are for “Sorry Not Sorry” and “Friends,” respectively.
Some of the aforementioned certifications were announced in conjunction with this week’s ARIA chart; Auspop reported some others.
A double-platinum awards signifies at least 140,000 in Australian units.
“Meant To Be” has thus far gone as high as #2 on the ARIA Australian Top 50 Singles chart. It is #3 on this week’s listing.
“What Lovers Do,” which went as high as #7 in Australia, is down to #28 this week. The #8-peaking “Good Old Days” concurrently falls to #42 on this week’s chart.
“Sorry Not Sorry” and “Friends” are no longer on the chart; they peaked at #8 and #2, respectively.
