Ratings: “Scandal” Reaches Season Viewership High With Kerry Washington-Directed Episode

“Grey’s Anatomy” also rose to a new season high in overall viewership.

Based on preliminary ratings, this week’s “Scandal” and “Grey’s Anatomy” set new season highs in overall viewership.

They tied season highs in adults 18-49.

According to fast national data posted by Showbuzz, Thursday’s “Scandal” drew a 1.4 adults 18-49 rating and averaged 5.60 million overall viewers.

The numbers top the 1.3 rating and 5.19 million viewer mark posted by last week’s episode.

The adults 18-49 rating, moreover, ties that of the October 5 premiere to rank as a season high. The viewership mark represents a new season high.

Kerry Washington, who stars as Olivia Pope, directed this week’s “Scandal.”

— ABC led into “Scandal” with “Grey’s Anatomy,” which drew a 2.3 adults 18-49 rating and 8.85 million in viewership.

Last week’s episode posted the same 2.3 in the demo but a lesser viewership mark of 8.62 million.

This week’s viewership sum, as noted, is a new season high. The demo rating ties the high mark set by several episodes this season.

— ABC’s “TGIT” lineup closed with “How To Get Away With Murder” (1.0 rating, 3.66 million viewers this week vs. 1.0, 3.54 million last week).
