Ratings: “Black Lightning” Rises Against State Of Union, “Flash” Also Rises

The CW’s Tuesday series posted week-over-week gains.

While the other broadcast networks aired President Trump’s State of the Union Address from 9-10:40PM, The CW aired an original installment of “Black Lightning” in the 9PM hour.

Aided by that scheduling dynamic and improved lead-in support from “The Flash,” the episode posted week-over-week gains in adults 18-49 and overall viewership.

According to national data posted by Showbuzz, Tuesday’s “Black Lightning” drew a 0.8 adults 18-49 rating and averaged 2.21 million overall viewers.

The numbers top the 0.6 rating and 1.94 million viewer mark drawn by last week’s episode. The demo rating, in fact, matches that posted by the January 16 series premiere.

— 8PM drama “The Flash” was also up this week. The CW’s flagship series drew a 0.9 in the demo and 2.60 million in viewership, besting the 0.7 rating and 2.20 million viewer sum posted last week.
