Cast members Patrick J Adams (Mike Ross) and Meghan Markle (Rachel Zane) will be leaving “Suits” in the upcoming seventh season finale.
The show itself will not, however, be departing USA Network this year. USA has officially renewed “Suits” for an eighth season.
Along with confirming the renewal, USA reveals that cast members Gabriel Macht (Harvey Specter), Sarah Rafferty (Donna Paulsen), Rick Hoffman (Louis Litt) and newly confirmed series regular Dule Hill (Alex Williams) will continue starring on the show.
Creator and executive producer Aaron Korsh will also be back for the eighth season.
While additional cast members have not yet been announced, Korsh teased the debut of “an adversarial new character that will give Harvey a run for his money.”
“After seven seasons, SUITS remains one of USA Network’s most beloved and popular series,” said Chris McCumber, President, Entertainment Networks, NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment. “While we’re excited for Season 8, everyone at USA will deeply miss Patrick and Meghan, and are grateful for the talent and commitment they brought to SUITS season after season. We wish each of them nothing but the very best.”
“Suits” resumes its seventh season on March 28. The two-hour season finale — which will be the final episode for Mike and Rachel — airs on April 25.
