Ratings: “Black Lightning” Premiere Fares Well, Matches “The Flash” In Demo

“Black Lightning” matched its “The Flash” lead-in among adults 18-49.

While it remains to be seen how “Black Lightning” will fare in the weeks ahead, it definitely got off to a promising start.

According to fast national data posted by Showbuzz, Tuesday’s premiere drew a 0.8 adults 18-49 rating and averaged 2.31 million overall viewers.

“Black Lightning” matched its (immensely compatible) lead-in “The Flash” among adults 18-49. It nearly did so in overall viewership (2.47 million viewers for “The Flash”).

The numbers will almost certainly position “Black Lightning” as The CW’s second-most-watched program for the week.

They also markedly top the third season averages of “DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow,” which occupied the Tuesday at 9PM timeslot this fall.
