Camila Cabello Battling “Greatest Showman” For #1 On Billboard 200 Chart

Camila Cabello’s debut solo album and the enduring “The Greatest Showman” soundtrack both have a shot at #1.

Update: With just over one full day left in the January 12-18 tracking week, the race between Camila Cabello’s “Camila” and the soundtrack to “The Greatest Showman” remains very tight.

Hits Daily Double now projects that both will post US consumption totals in the mid-to-high 90,000s.

Consumption, as a reminder, is the sum of pure sales, TEA (track sales/10) and SEA (track streams/1500). It informs placement on the Billboard 200.

“Camila” is new to the market this week. “The Greatest Showman” launched in December — and caught fire at the turn of the New Year. It has spent the past two weeks at #1.

As we move toward the end of the January 12-18 tracking week, Camila Cabello’s “Camila” and the soundtrack to “The Greatest Showman” remain a tight race for #1 on the Billboard 200 consumption chart.

According to Hits Daily Double, “Camila” is tracking slightly ahead. The publication expects Cabello’s debut solo album to close the week with 92-97,000 US consumption units. About 50-55,000 should come from pure sales.

“The Greatest Showman” is definitely not out of the race, however. The soundtrack, which topped the past two Billboard 200 charts, is expected to move another 87-92,000 units this week. Hits expects 57-62,000 to come from pure sales.

In addition to sales, the consumption total accounts for TEA (track sales/10) and SEA (track streams/1500).

Billboard will most likely reveal the winner of this week’s Billboard 200 race on Sunday, January 21.

With no other album even expected to clear 60K in consumption units, that winner will almost certainly be either “Camila” or “The Greatest Showman.”
